I cannot WAIT to reveal all the projects I've been able to complete with the December kit from The Scrap Room! I know I say it every month, but trust me on this: December is NOT the month to miss out on this kit...it is loaded, it is fabulous, and it is a must-have for you scrappers out there. If you can't get one for yourself, then maybe you could suggest it on your wish list to Santa! ;)
So I got to work with the Jillibean Soup part of the kit for my "Sneak Peek" layout. This photo cracks me up EVERY TIME I see it. Last year on Christmas Day, my little guy was walking around my parents' house with my mom's reading glasses on. We immediately thought of Ralphie on "A Christmas Story" (who doesn't love that movie?!) and made him hold my dad's Red Ryder BB gun and pose in front of the tree for this hilarious picture. Doesn't he look like Ralphie?!! Sooooooo funny!
The little mittens at the top are my favorite! They were just a part of one of the patterned papers included in the kit, but I cut them each out and strung them at the top with some white thread. :) If you look closely at the presents at the bottom (also cut out from patterned paper), you will see that one of the presents says, "To: Ralphie" in white ink. hehehe!

Quick Layout Share
Hello everyone! Just wanted to share a few layouts I've been working on lately. They are all from last year's Christmas/Winter....finally getting some of them scrapped and using up some older stash in the process. Hope you are having a great weekend and nice Thanksgiving break. It has gone so quickly, but I've had a wonderful holiday...obviously with a little bit of scrappy time! ;)

November Scrap Room Reveal!
Tammy has done it once again with her FABULOUS November kit from The Scrap Room! I love being a designer for her kit club...you always get such a great assortment of products from 4 different new lines. Here are the things I came up with this month:
Plus, a layout I lifted from one of my fellow designers, Lan Amphone, because I just love how she used these papers! :)

Recipe #10 - I did it!!! :)
Woohoo! I reached my goal of trying out at least 10 new recipes for this year! I made #10 a few nights ago, and it was really yummy, especially for this time of year. Plus, it was a crock pot recipe, so it was super easy and made the whole house smell yummy. :) Here you go!
Cheesy Potato and Bacon Soup
INGREDIENTS
4 slices bacon
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
5 cups diced peeled russet potatoes (about 5 medium)
1 medium stalk celery, chopped (1/2 cup)
1 carton (32 oz) Progresso® chicken broth (4 cups)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups half-and-half
1 bag (8 oz) shredded American and Cheddar cheese blend (2 cups)
DIRECTIONS
* 1. In 12-inch skillet, cook bacon over medium heat, turning occasionally, until browned and crispy. Remove from skillet, reserving fat in skillet. Drain bacon on paper towel, then refrigerate. In same skillet, cook onion in bacon fat over medium heat 4 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until tender.
* 2. Spray 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In cooker, mix onion, potatoes, celery, broth, salt and pepper.
* 3. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 6 to 7 hours.
* 4. In small bowl, beat flour and half-and-half with wire whisk until well blended; stir into soup. Increase heat setting to High. Cover; cook about 30 minutes longer or until thickened. Stir in cheese until well melted. Crumble bacon; sprinkle over soup.
Mmmmm, so warm and tasty! Enjoy. :)
