Hello! Welcome to my blog! I'm Jennifer, but most people call me Jenny. I'm a small town Texas girl, born again Christian, mommy to 2 beautiful boys, wife to my high school sweetheart, scrapbook supply junkie, and occasional paper sniffer. :) Here you will find bits and pieces of my scrapbooking projects, daily thoughts, and just general randomness. Enjoy and thanks for reading!

How's the Weather?

Is it snowy where you are?  We had a tiny bit of snow fall on Christmas Day, but it wasn't even enough to stick.  Other than that, we haven't seen any of the white stuff! And that's just fine with me...not a big fan of cold weather. ;)

However, snow pictures are super fun to scrap, don't you think?  This photo is a few years old, but I finally got it scrapped.  I used the "Silver Valley" collection by SEI for this one:

I cut out the snow flakes from the patterned paper and popped them up with 3D glue dots. I also tore some of the paper behind the tree cut-out to make it look like a little snowy hill.

We're about to finish up Christmas Break and start back to school on Monday.  (BOO!)  I love having my boys home with me....I don't want to send them back to school. :(  We had to take my little guy to the pediatrician today, and yep...he tested positive for the flu.  However, it's at the end of its course, so we're hoping he will be over it soon.  He's done great today with no fever since around 3:00 this morning, so that's progress.  Hubby and I would sure love to get a full night's rest in tonight if possible.  Most importantly, I just want my little guy to feel all better and get the rest HE needs.

Hope you all are staying warm and flu-free!!

The Scrap Room - January 2013

Good morning, everyone! Well...kinda. We were up all night with my youngest son running fever. Not sure what is going on there. He seems fine except for fever. He's better now, but I keep checking his temp. I hate it when my babies don't feel well! :(

Anyway, the January 2013 monthly kit from The Scrap Room has been revealed, and I wanted to share my projects using this kit.

First up, my cards:

Next, my 2-pager:

And finally, my layouts:

As you can see, I was able to use some divided page protectors and the Sn@p! Life portion of the kit to scrap some vacation photos from this past summer. I really love using the divided page protectors and hope to incorporate them more in my albums. It seems like I get so many more photos scrapped using this method. Plus..it's a lot of fun to design each little divided area. ;)

Thanks for taking a look!

New Year, New Goals

Umm.....hi. Remember me? ....crickets....

Yeah, I'm the one who fell of the blogging bandwagon. You see, I haven't posted anything on this blog since October. OCTOBER. The reason? I have no idea. Just lots going on, and the blog got pushed to the back burner.

But, with the new year here, it's time to jump back in and get to blogging again. Hopefully.

The new year always brings new resolutions and goals. Whether we say "oh I don't do New Year Resolutions" or not, I think subconsciously we all kinda do in some form or another. I'm not one to set "resolutions," but I do have a few goals in mind.

Some goals:
1. Be better about blogging. I love blogging, and I love looking back and reading about my life, even if no one else ever comes here and reads or comments. If I don't blog about it, sometimes I forget it....so blogging is a good thing.
2. The dreaded one....EXERCISE more. I know, I know. It seems like everyone tends to make this a goal as the new year approaches, but seriously. I really need to. Like, clothes are getting uncomfortable, and I am NEVER happy with the way things fit me/feel on me...and I LOVE cute clothes, so why shouldn't I get to enjoy them? In order to enjoy them, I need to get back down a couple of sizes. Not to mention, I just want to be healthier and feel better. And now that it's here on the blog, I feel somewhat more accountable for this goal.
3. Pray more, worry less. No explanation needed.
4. Create at least 100 scrapbook layouts in 2013. In 2011, I created 150, and in 2012 I hit an even 100. I should be able to do that again this year.

So...what about you? What are your goals? I'm not gonna lie. Setting goals is sometimes scary. But goals are meant to better yourself and possibly others too, so it shouldn't be so scary, right?

Here's to livin' the dream in 2013! ;)
