Hello Fall!

Well, it's still in the upper 80s/low 90s here in Texas, but Fall is supposedly here! I LOVE Fall photos, and every year at our church's pumpkin patch, I take tons of photos of my boys with the pumpkins and various photo areas we have. I love these photos of my little guy. The second I opened my October kit box from The Scrap Room and saw this gorgeous collection by Simple Stories, I immediately printed out these photos and got to scrapping:
Isn't he a cutie pie?! The cutest little punkin' in the patch, if I do say so myself. ;)

Boo!

Scared ya, didn't I? ;) I made this little Boo! sign for one of my projects this month for The Scrap Room. I took a little decorative piece of wood, used Mod Podge to adhere some patterned paper to it, and inked/distressed the edges. Then, I cut the "Boo!" artwork on my Silhouette and adhered it to the paper. I gave everything a good coat of Mod Podge and then stapled ribbon to the back to create this hanging wooden sign. Easy, peasy!
Speaking of Halloween...my boys still don't know what they want to be yet, so still no costumes. Sigh... Happy Saturday, everyone!

Fall 2-pager

Good morning, everyone! The temperature has cooled down a bit here in Texas, which can only mean one thing...FALL is here!!! :) I love Fall....but I always get major alleriges at the beginning of Fall, like right now. My eyes are puffy, itchy, red, and watery, and my nose is all stuffy. But hey....I can actually go outside without sweating to death, so that's good! Every Fall, we host a Pumpkin Patch at my church as a fundraiser to raise money for missions. We send supplies to churches and an orphanage in Mexico, as well as support other local and worldwide missions. It feels good to give to such worthy causes. I hope to take a missions trip sometime in the future. Anyway, the October kit from The Scrap Room is just bursting with AMAZING Fall colors, and I couldn't wait to dig into the Simple Stories "Harvest Lane" collection that was assigned to me for my 2-pager. I used Pumpkin Patch photos from last year and came up with this:
Happy Fall, everyone!

Scrappy Sunday 9/30/12

Just sharing a page I did recently of my little guy at the beach this past summer. His favorite thing to do was jumping the waves! :)
I love this collection by Fancy Pants! It's their "Wave Searcher" collection...perfect for my beach pics, and more layouts using this collection are coming up. ;) Thanks for taking a look!

Baseball

Quick page share. It's almost time for me to go pick up the boys from school, but I thought I'd post my latest baseball page. This year, my youngest son FINALLY got to play on a real "team." He has watched his older brother play on teams for so many years, and he was SOOOO excited to finally get to play on a team of his own.
(paper by Deja Views, stickers by Echo Park) His best buddy was also on his team this year, which made it even more fun. :) Speaking of baseball....we just got back late last night from my oldest son's traveling team tournament all weekend long. We are all still exhausted, and I have a ton of dirty laundry to wash (and somehow need to get baseball field dirt and grass stains out of WHITE pants????)...but it was a fun weekend. Our boys came in 4th place out of 12 teams. These were all big city elite teams, too, making us the only "small town" team there, so I am so proud of our guys for hanging with the big dogs and giving it their all. :) Better throw the laundry into the dryer and head out to pick up boys...thanks for looking!

First Six Weeks Awards

Hello friends!
Just sharing another 2-pager I did for The Scrap Room using the September kit. This kit had me thinking SCHOOL TIME!, so I put together this page about my oldest son when he was in 2nd grade. I've wanted to scrap this page for a long time and include all of his little ribbons/awards that he received. I have some of these ribbons from when I was in grade school, and I know that eventually they turn colors and fade.

So, before I put these on his page, I sprayed them with some Krylon "Make It Last!" acid-free spray...so hopefully it will preserve them for a long time. :)

You Make Me Happy

Just sharing another page I did for the September kit from The Scrap Room!

They really do make me happy. In fact, the little guy and I were playing in his bedroom floor earlier this afternoon, and I'm pretty sure we both laughed until our stomachs hurt. :)

TSR Reveal Week for September Kits!

Hey all!
Over the next several days, I will be sharing my projects I've done using The Scrap Room's September kit. This kit is one of my favorites from the whole year! Tammy really put a nice selection of new, fun products in this one, as she does every month.

For my "sneak peek" layout, I was assigned the Basic Grey "Clippings" part of the kit. It was perfect for my youngest son's preschool picture from 2011:

Love that little sly grin on his cute face. :)

Thanks for taking a look!

First Day of School! First Day of School!

It was the 1st day of school for my boys today. I'm one of those moms who usually comes home after drop-off and lies in the fetal position and cries for a while, but I held it together pretty well today. Only cried once...and it wasn't a full-on ugly cry...just a few tears as I read my email devotional today about moms taking their babies to school. It just hit home, I guess, and then the tears fell. But, I quickly dried them up and tried to stay busy so the time would pass quickly.

The day started off a little crazy...I set the alarm for a certain time, and the alarm went off, but someone had turned the volume all the way down, so we didn't hear it! Luckily, we woke up on our own not too long after what I had set the alarm for...so everyone got up and got ready without any complaining. :)

My youngest was SUPER excited about wearing his new shoes. He was dressed and ready to go, shoes and all, by the time I was still working on my makeup. LOL! He was determined that these new shoes of his made him run faster, so he ran from my room to his room several times to "try it out." Silly boy!

We took the usual "back-to-school" photos in the backyard, and everything was going great...until our dog decided she was super excited and jumped up on my oldest son, leaving muddy pawprints on his NEW shorts. Yeah...not cool. So, he quickly ran to his room and put on a different pair of shorts, put his shoes back on, and we all headed out.

After drop-off and choking back tears, I pulled back into our home's carport by myself. I didn't want to go into the deadly silent house yet, so I called my mom and asked if she wanted to go get some breakfast. I picked her up, and we had a nice breakfast together at McD's. Most importanly, I got my sweet tea. The day's always better when I get my sweet tea.

I came home and worked on a few scrapbook assignments, and before I knew it, it was time to pick up the boys! Aaron's teacher gave them all popsicles as they left today, so he sat in the car and ate his green popsicle while we drove to pick up Evan. Both boys said they had a great day! We came home, got a snack, and the boys got started on homework as I filled out 14,556,778,589,551 papers (okay, maybe not that many, but geez!).

The outfits are already laid out for tomorrow, and now the guys are at baseball practice. The house is quiet once again, so I guess I better go find something to make for supper before my hungry boys get home! :)

Proud

Every now and then, you just gotta brag about your kiddos, right? I finally got around to scrapping one of the graduation photos from my youngest son's preschool graduation in 2011. This boy makes me so proud. He's got such a sweet, friendly spirit. He's just a happy-go-lucky kind of kid, almost always with a smile on his face. Even when he was just a little baby, people always asked us, "Is he always this happy??" My answer was always: Yep. Except when he's hungry. LOL!

I thought he would be all shy walking down the aisle at his preschool graduation. Nope. He actually had a little "bounce" in his step as he tried not to grin from ear-to-ear as he proudly walked down the aisle to the stage. His little tassel on his graduation hat swung back and forth, and he giggled as it smacked him in the face. Made me smile. And giggle myself. He makes me so proud. :)

Riding the Surf

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Just wanted to share a quick beach page I recently made using the Fancy Pants "Wave Searcher" collection. My fabulous sister bought me the WHOLE collection at our favorite scrapbook store, Cat's Creations. I love this collection, and it has been perfect for all of our beach pictures from Myrtle Beach back in June!

I love these photos of my big boy trying out boogie boarding for the first time. You couldn't have wiped the smile off of his face if you tried. He LOVED it and was surprisingly fearless about it! That's my boy. :)

Thanks for stopping by! (and please don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY...only a few days left until I draw a winning name!)

Family Picnic

A couple of years ago, my family and I decided to go to a little city park for a picnic and some playtime right before school started. It was our last little summertime trip together before the craziness of school started. I finally got these pictures scrapped using the August monthly kit from The Scrap Room:

Here we are, almost at the same time of year as when these pictures were taken. Maybe we should do a repeat and have another little final "hurrah" before school starts this month. :)

Sisters...

For those of you lucky enough to have a sister or two, you know what I'm talking about....they can drive you insane sometimes, but they truly are your best friends. I have 2 sisters myself. I'm stuck in the middle. One sister is 4 years older than me, the other is 9 years younger than me. We have our ups and downs, just as any siblings do, but I love them. Always have, always will. :)

Here is a "Sisters" page I created using the August kit from The Scrap Room:

I had fun doing a "girly" page for once, seeing as though most of my pages are about my boys. The funnest part of this layout was creating the little cluster of embellishments in the bottom right corner:

I just kept layering and arranging until it felt right.

Thanks for taking a look, and don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY!

Good morning, everyone!

Join us for the August Sketch Challenge at The Scrap Room and check out the awesome sketch by the talented Aphra Bolyer. Here's the page I did using the August kit and Aphra's sketch:

Two Cards

What a day! We just got home from celebrating my oldest son's 10th BIRTHDAY! We had a pool party for him at the city pool, and we had a great turnout and so much fun. SO blessed. He doesn't actually turn 10 until the 8th, but we had his party today.

Just wanted to share a couple of cards I made for The Scrap Room this month:

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Ripley's Aquarium

Have you seen the August kit reveal for The Scrap Room? I love this kit...the colors are so awesome, and there is such a wide variety!

My favorite part of the kit was the Little Yellow Bicycle "Splash" collection. SO colorful and bright...so perfect for summertime pictures!

I used it for my sneak peek, but I also used it for this layout:

These pictures were taken at Ripley's Aquarium during our Myrtle Beach vacation back in June. That aquarium was so awesome! If you are ever in Myrtle Beach, you gotta go to it. I highly recommend it. ;) The "shark tunnel" was the coolest...you step onto a moving conveyer belt, which takes you through an aquarium tunnel. The sharks are literally swimming all around you and even ABOVE you! So cool. My boys loved that. :)

On a side note...it's AUGUST aleady?!!! How did THAT happen? Wow.

Oh, and don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY! You have until Aug. 28 to enter. Happy August, everyone!

**GIVEAWAY!!!!!!**

Howdy peeps!

I've got a SUPER fun giveaway for my readers. I am so excited about this one because you are going to LOVE it!

Have you heard of Paper Coterie? If not, prepare to be amazed....

Paper Coterie offers photo books, calendars, cards, journals, and much more. Their newest release...WALL ART....and I am IN.LOVE.

What is Wall Art, you ask? Here is what Paper Coterie says about it:

Brighten the rooms in your home with vibrant, personalized wall art! First, choose your favorite creative design. Next, you can choose which product to order in that design. You can choose a decorative fabric poster made from a specially patented adhesive that can stick and re-stick to any surface. If your looking for a more dimensional look, choose a high quality stretched canvas print that comes out of the box ready to hang. Either way, you'll love what the personalized artwork brings to your walls.

Check out these adorable samples:

Aren't those precious?! How cute would one of those be in your child's room, playroom, or classroom? I love that you can personalize each one, making it a unique piece of artwork just for your child or you. Or, how about putting a teacher's name on the "Know Your ABCs" one and giving it as a nice gift for Christmas? My head is spinning with all kinds of ideas for these!

The fact that you can peel them off the wall and reuse them, without damaging your wall paint, is amazing. Or, you can order one that is already stretched onto a canvas and is perfect for hanging on the wall!

I decided to make a canvas poster for my youngest son's bedroom. I chose the one called "Star Label." It was SO easy to create...I just input his name and date, picked what color I wanted, and bam....DONE. :) Here's what it looked like:

PERFECT colors to match his room, and shipping was super fast. I couldn't wait to get it up on his wall, but I wanted a frame around it. However, there is no custom frame shop around here, so I took a piece of trim, got my dad to cut some 45° angles in it, and then we glued/stapled it together. My husband and I then painted it white to match our son's room. Once the paint was dry and the frame was all finished, we hung it on my son's wall and then added the poster to the middle of it. We then added a couple of floating shelves to the right of it, and voila! A unique, one-of-a-kind art wall for my son. :) I LOVE how it turned out:

What do you think? Can't wait to get your hands on one of those custom prints? Well, good news...

Paper Coterie wants me to GIVE AWAY ONE PIECE OF WALL ART CANVAS on this blog!!!! That's a retail value of $79 for FREE! All you have to do is leave me a comment, telling me which piece of Wall Art you would choose (I know it's hard to choose, but try to pick your favorite!), and you will be entered into a drawing to win the print of your choice. **please note that the winner will be responsible for paying shipping costs, which is a flat rate of $12.99**

For an extra entry, become a "follower" of my blog!

The giveaway starts NOW (July 28) and will run through August 28. The winner will be announced and contacted shortly after that.

So visit Paper Coterie, click on "Decor", scroll down to the subtitle "Wall Art", and let me know your fave! Be sure and share this great giveaway with your friends and family too! :)

**Don't want to wait on the luck of the draw? Visit Paper Coterie and check out all of their amazing products you can order!**

It's Sneak Peek Time!

This month's kit assignments kinda sneaked up on me! Whoa, July just flew by. Wow.

Anyway, here is my "Sneak Peek" layout for the August kit from The Scrap Room:

And here is a close-up of some of the included embellishments. I used the little teardrop shaped crystals and added them around one of the plastic waves/splashes transparencies. It added a little bit more "splash", I thought. :)

This is the Little Yellow Bicycle "Splash" collection. It's just perfect for those summertime water shots! :)

Thanks for taking a peek!

Scrappy Sunday

Hello everyone!
I have been at my son's overnight baseball tournament all weekend, and I am WORN.OUT. Being in the sun/heat all day really wears me out....but we are home now. :)

I've done a little extra scrapping this past week, other than my usual monthly assignments for The Scrap Room. I used some leftovers from a previous kit and a sketch by the talented Susan Stringfellow and came up with this layout:

If you're like me, the LAST thing you want to be thinking about right now is school, but I needed to get this photo scrapped and put away in the album.

Here is my journaling:
Oh, my heart...my babies are both starting school today. They are excited, but I feel like crying. Hurry up, 3:15 pm! -Mommy

Do you feel like that when the 1st day of school rolls around, or are you thrilled that the house is quiet again as the kids start back? It's always sad for me. I hate letting go. I just love having my boys here at home with me. Yes, they get annoying and the summertime "I'm bored" chant is irritating, but....I'd much rather have them at home with me than at school all day long.

July is halfway over, and it will be back-to-school time before we know it. *sniff

A Couple of Cards

My last 2 projects for the July kit from The Scrap Room....

Question: Do you make cards? If so, do you send them out immediately or add them to your stash and use them as you need them?

A Note from Your Scrap Table

Dearest Talented Scrapbooker,

I miss you. Please come back to me. I see the way you longingly look at me when you pass by on your way to put up clothes or start supper. I know you still have feelings for me.

I have been right here waiting for you all this time...waiting for that moment when you come back to me and become mine once again. I miss the warmth of your hands all over me. I long for the day when we can be together once again, nothing standing in our way. Not even Pinterest.

With deepest love,

Your Scrap Table

(written by Jennifer Moore - http://www.moore-than-words.blogspot.com)

Cool Treats

Ahh...summertime treats. Like ice cold snocones. A couple of years ago while we were on vacation, we took the boys to a little roadside snocone hut and let them pick out whatever snocone they wanted. Good stuff! :)

I made this page with Bella Blvd.'s "Sunshine & Happiness" collection, including in the July kit from The Scrap Room.

I love the fun, bright, summery colors!

Just a quick post today to share my 2-pager for The Scrap Room this month. I got to work with the Crate Paper "Story Teller" collection for this one. I LOVE this collection...endless possibilities! :)

Thanks for looking!

Our Family

It's not too often we get a family photo with ALL of us in it. Some sweet lady on the beach saw me taking photos of the boys and kindly offered to take a couple of family photos for us so we could all be in the picture. So, when I opened my July kit from The Scrap Room and saw the beautiful, calming colors of the Crate Paper "Story Teller" collection, I knew that part of the kit would work well with these photos. Enjoy!

Inside the little envelope is a seashell my son brought home from the beach. :)

Layout - So Very Blessed

The July kit has been revealed at The Scrap Room, and it's a must-have for summertime! I made this page of my boys and me using Simple Stories "Fab-U-lous" collection:

This was based on our exclusive monthly sketch by the talented Mrs. Aphra Bolyer! I just love her sketches. :)

Thanks for taking a look!

July Sneak Peek!

Hey everyone! Just sharing my latest layout for The Scrap Room today. This page was inspired by a sketch from Susan Stringfellow. I got to use the Pink Paislee "Prairie Hill" collection for my sneak peek, and I scrapped a new beach photo for this page:

All of those little diamonds were hand cut from one of the patterned papers. Did you notice that there are really no embellishments used on this page? I used the patterned paper as my "embellishments" and used some alphas for the title. That's it! :) I can't wait to show you the whole July kit....it's amazing and a must-have for summertime photos!!

And...We're Back!

Hello everyone!

Sorry for my absence lately. My little family of 4 just spent 5 days in beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for summer vacation. We haven't been on a "real" vacation since Disney World in 2009, so this was much needed, and I'm SO thankful we were able to go.

I won't bore you with all the pictures and details, but I will definitely be scrapping the photos here and there. ;) I do want to share this one, though...it's one of my favorites!

Notice my little guy's feet aren't even touching the ground...he was literally "floating on air!" Ha! I got a ton of great shots of my boys on the beach. I just couldn't stop the camera clicking every time we were on the beach! It was so beautiful there, and the weather was just perfect.

Hope you are all having a GREAT summer!

More Disney Pages

Good morning, everyone!

I've got cinnamon rolls in the oven, and my little guy is still sleeping. The boys went to a friend's pool party last night, and I guess Aaron was completely worn out! He NEVER sleeps this late! But hey...I'll take it. Summertime rocks.

Speaking of summertime, I'm STILL scrapping photos from our family vacation to Disney World when we went back in 2009! The Scrap Room's June kit made scrapping these memories a breeze! Everything I needed was right there in the kit, so I busted out 2 Disney pages in no time. Gotta love that!

I loved these pictures that my hubby took. They are of my son and my nephew waiting on the steps of The Crystal Palace for lunch one day. I have no idea what they were discussing at the time, but they looked too cute sitting there on the steps and looking at the castle together:

Next up is a page I did of the kids playing in Minnie's House in Toon Town. They loved exploring all the cute little nooks and crannies of Minnie's House. :) I think this is the only picture I got of them inside the house, though, because we were too busy exploring everything! hehehe

I used the little "Hi There" sticker below the photo because I thought it sounded like something Minnie would say. :)

Thanks for looking, and I hope you are having a happy summer filled with memories!

Home Decor for The Scrap Room

Oh dear...what a Monday! We started off the morning with my youngest son running in the living room and falling on the end table, resulting in about a 2-inch straight cut on his forehead. I thought I might need to take him to the ER for some stitches, but after a call to my mom (who works at the hospital and talked to a nurse), it was decided that I could just put some peroxide on the wound and then close it with some Liquid Bandaid and some Steri-Strips. Ugh. No mama likes to see blood from her kid! :(

Anyway, got the head wound under control....now I'm just praying it doesn't leave a big scar on my beautiful boy's face.

Moving along....

I'm going to share a couple of home decor projects I made this month using the June kit from The Scrap Room. First up is an altered picture frame. I bought the wooden frame for $1 at JoAnn's and covered it with some of the paper from the June kit. I then made a felt flower to add to the bottom corner. I printed off a "Keep Calm & Carry On" print and put it in the frame. Easy peasy!

Next up is a little wooden star I created. I got the star at Michael's and Mod Podged some patterned papers on it. Soooo easy, and I like the way it turned out!

Be watching The Scrap Room blog for a more detailed post on how to create the altered picture frame.

Thanks for taking a look....and remember: I LOVE comments! hehehe

San Antonio Weekend

A few weeks ago, my sister and I got to meet up with our dear friend, Paula, for a weekend in San Antonio! We had so much fun just chilling on the Riverwalk and catching up with each other. We ate some very yummy food, too, and the weather was great. We also got to meet Paula's adorable son, Nathan, for the first time. It's good to just get away now and then and catch up with a buddy, isn't it? Good for the soul. :)

Here's a page I did using the June monthly kit from The Scrap Room:

This layout was based on a sketch by the talented Aphra Bolyer, just for The Scrap Room! :) Good times.

2-pager for The Scrap Room

School is out, and it's officially summertime here! My boys slept until 9:00 this morning...which has never EVER happened! It was a great way to start the summer...I could totally get used to that. LOL!

I love my boys so much....and I have found the PERFECT boy scrapbooking collection to scrap their photos. It's soooo versatile, and I wish I had the whole collection because I'm sure I could use it over and over and over for their pages. It's really hard to find a great "boy" themed collection in the scrappy world...you know, something that doesn't have skulls and crossbones or weird stuff like that. This collection has awesome masculine colors, perfect embellishments that work for little boys and bigger boys, and amazing designs! I could seriously use up every last bit of it!

Good news for The Scrap Room kit subscribers....a sample of this collection I'm talking about is included in the June monthly kit!! I'm talking about the "Awesome" collection by Simple Stories. Ah-mazing. I can't say enough about it...it was my favorite from June's TSR kit, and I created this 2-pager with it:

These are older pictures of my youngest son playing at the park...but I thought they worked perfectly with this boy collection! This Simple Stories collection is not overly grungy one bit...it's just right for boys, I think! Just the right amount of brightness and FUN! Perfect for my AWESOME little boy(s). :)

June 2012 Sneak Peek for TSR!

Hi everyone!
Last day of school for us tomorrow...WOOOHOO!!! It's been a GREAT school year. We have been so blessed with great teachers for our boys this year. I'm so ready to have them home for the summer, though.

Here's my "sneak peek" for the June kit from The Scrap Room. I got to use the Jillibean Soup Neapolitan Bean Bisque part of the kit for my sneak. These colors are so fun! When I saw the little "I love moustaches" sticker in my kit, I KNEW I had to use these photos! Ha! Enjoy, and thanks for stopping by. :)

Baseball Pages

Who loves baseball?? WE DO!!! If we aren't running one of the boys up to the ball field for a game or practice, then we are usually at home watching a game on TV or out in the backyard playing wiffle ball. With 3 guys in this house, it is baseball 24/7 it seems.

I finally scrapped some of last season's pictures for my oldest son. I used an older We R Memory Keepers collection called "MVP." It's PERFECT for all those baseball pics I have!

Thanks for taking a look! PLAY BALL!!!!!!!! :)

A Couple of Extras!

Hey there!

Just uploading a couple of extra layouts I did for The Scrap Room with the leftover pieces I had from using the May 2012 kit. Here they are:

Yes, folks, I realize that the photos I scrapped are from 2009 and 2010....but hey...they are DONE! ;)
