A Little Home Decor Project

I don't know how, but I managed to get a little home improvement and home decor project done this past weekend! I took on our hallway and completely repainted it...so it feels good to have that done. Next, I created some wall decor using some wooden plaques, ribbon, and scrapbook paper. Got the idea from Pinterest. Check it out:

I like the way it turned out, and I have a friend who has asked me to make her one just like it that says, "Love." So, that's next on my to-do list. :) It's a great way to use up some leftover scraps of paper! Thanks for taking a look.

iWant

Ohhhhhhhh, the things I would create with this bad boy:

That's the Silhouette Cameo. I want it. More than any other scrapbooking/crafting tool I've ever wanted before. One day, it will be mine. It will.

That is all.

Baseball Season Has Begun!

Ah, how I love springtime! A time of refreshing, a time of warmer temperatures and more being outside, a time of.....BASEBALL! This year, for the first year ever, BOTH of my little guys are in Little League. Aaron has been dragged to every practice and has watched his big brother play in every one of his games for going on 5 seasons now. He has patiently (okay, maybe not-so-patiently) watched and longed to get out on that field himself one day and be a part of a team. That day happened today. :) My little guy had his first t-ball practice for HIS team today, and he couldn't have been more excited!

Aaron will be playing on the Phillies, with my hubby being his coach. We have a great group of little guys on the team...even one that I got to teach in my first preschool class. So cute!

Evan will be playing on the Angels. This boy is CAHH-RAZZZZY about baseball. He has baseball cards ALL over every room in the house, we redid his whole room in baseball stuff for Christmas, and he knows the stats of every player better than anyone I've ever known. He loves it...eats it up. His 2 best friends from his homeroom at school are on his team this year, and he is thrilled about that.

So...needless to say, baseball season is in full effect in this household. We've been watching our Texas Rangers play in the Spring Training games, and we are ready to go to a game!

And speaking of baseball...I have GOT to get some of last season's pics scrapped and into albums! Or I may just make another mini photobook like I did one year through Shutterfly. Hmmmm....decisions, decisions.

I do know, however, that I desperately want the new Jillibean Soup Game Day Chili kit!

I plan on buying this and using up every single bit of it. With 2 boys in baseball now, it shouldn't be hard to do!

March TSR Sneak Peek!

Hello people!
Wow...haven't blogged since January. Shame on me! Looks like I lost a blog follower, too. :( Life has been busy, to say the least, but good! After the whirlwind ups and downs from the last 2 years from my husband's job issues, we are finally stepping into something that we think is long-term and beneficial for our family. He started a new job yesterday with an oil/gas company here in town (no more driving out of town for work, yay!!), and he is really picking it up quickly and doing great with it so far. Since he's working back in our town, that means we get our lunch dates back too. Yay!! And, he get BENEFITS at his new job, which is something he hasn't had in the last 3 jobs he's had...so good stuff. Lots of prayers have been answered. :)

Moving on....

I haven't scrapped much lately, but I did manage to bust open the March 2012 monthly kit from The Scrap Room, and boy is it lovely! I am currently finishing up my last assignment (a 2-pager!) using this kit, but I have a "sneak peek" for you all today. My sneak peek layout features Little Yellow Bicycle's "Paradise" collection:

These pictures are of my little Aaron and his preschool Easter party last year. I just love Easter pics. :) Plus, Easter is one of the only times I can get away with using pink on my boys' pages. hehehe

Thanks for stopping by!

Does "Project Life" Intimidate You?

So, I've had these divided page protectors from We R Memory Keepers forever, but I've never really played with them until today. With all the Project Life stuff I've been seeing all over the Internet, it really made me want to get some pics and stories put into albums.

The task of Project Life had me feeling a little intimidated because:
A. I do NOT take a picture every single day (nor do I really have the desire to do so).
and
B. I'm so far behind on my scrapping that I really need to focus on scrapping pictures I've already taken instead of taking new photos just to make a PL album.

Don't get me wrong...PL is amazing and an awesome idea. I just needed to "tweak" it a little to fit my needs. ;)

I don't have the page protectors that everyone is using for their Project Life stuff, but I did have these that have divided 4x6 slots:

So, I had created this page of Evan at his 1st grade Dual Language Christmas program (he's in a program where he learns English related studies for a week then switches over to Spanish related studies for a week and alternates back and forth all school year). He was chosen out of all the students to lead the Dual Language program kids in reading "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in Spanish. He would read it in Spanish and then point at the other students with his little pointer, and they would read it back to him. This was SO cool to watch because this was his first year in the program, and he picked up Spanish like it was his native language! His teachers (and me!!) couldn't believe how quickly he picked up on the pronunciation of the Spanish language and how fluently he was able to read it. Anyway, here's the page I created:

But I had several other photos left of the same program, as well as a few papers, etc. I can't just throw photos away, but then again...I don't want to do 3-4 pages of the same Christmas program. So, I used the divided protectors and did this:

Back side:

Now, ALLLLLL of the pics from that event are scrapped and Evan's school album!!! WOOHOO!

I was able to include a Christmas note/card he had written to me in 1st grade, as well as a letter from Santa that he received. All I did was fold them up and stick them in one of the 4x6 slots. So easy! These pages were made in no time, and the best part....I used ONLY scraps and leftovers from other pages to create them! This is such a great way to use up all those leftovers. I will definitely be using my divided page protectors to get more pages put away! :)
